Update: 23/04/12

There are now just 91 days until the team departs and the following fortnight promises to be a very exciting time in terms of the trip!

This coming weekend, two massive fundraising events are being held. On Saturday, the team are aiming to collectively complete an iron man triathlon: 2.4 miles swimming, 112 miles cycling and 26.2 miles running. This is going to be done throughout the day, with those running starting at 9.30am, those cycling starting slightly later then everyone heading down to the pool to support those swimming at 7pm. This promises to be a great day which though tough will hopefully be good fun as well. Following this on the Sunday, the Youth Team will also be bag packing at ASDA Lower Earley, which will hopefully be another fantastic opportunity to both raise some money and share with others the mission aspect of this trip. We would ask that you pray for all involved with this fundraising weekend; that they would be blessed with energy and good humour.

Then, next weekend, the team will all be heading down to Bournemouth (Visiting Immanuel URC, Southbourne) for an 'Orientation Weekend', using the time in fellowship to grow and develop as a team in preparation for the time spent in South Africa, both practically and spiritually.

Finally, you can now follow the team's progress on Twitter via @parkurc_sa. Follow for instant updates over the last couple of month's preparation and then while the group are away!
